Does anyone know something about a company called discovery oil and gas? I wonder if its a land company, operator or speculator?? I got a leasing offer in Sabine that appears to be reasonable but wanted to get your input before making a decision. Thanks.

The exact name is the key to getting the basic information contained in public records.  The first list is from the LA SOS corporate register,  the second is LA operating companies with "Discovery" in the name.

DISCOVERY OIL & GAS, LLC

DISCOVERY OIL & GAS CO. INC.

DISCOVERY OIL & GAS PARTNERS II, L.P.

DISCOVERY OIL & GAS PROPERTIES, L.L.C.

Organization ID

Organization Name

D196

DISCOVERY ENERGY, LLC

D2120

DISCOVERY OPERATING LLC OF NV

D205

DISCOVERY OPERATING, LLC

Thanks Skip. I'm not sure which one is correct since I have yet to see any documents.

Do you think $300/acre, 3/16 royalty for a 3/2 year term is good? I know it sounds really bad compared to 10 years ago but I fear gas prices will stay low for decades so I rather lease and take some money since I own non-producing minerals. Thoughts?

Value depends on location and "Sabine" is not sufficiently specific.  I agree with your interest in executing a lease but the devil is in the details.  You need a copy of the proposed lease.
