Finally some activity in the leasing area. Just leased 10 acres for $250/ and 1/5. Terms 3 & 2. Was able to work with landman and lawyer to change some term in lease, mainly surface rights, to my satisfaction. Comstock is scheduled to drill 2 TMS in the area in 2014.

Joe,

Where are located?

sj

I'm in Northern EBR Parish. I was lied to by Amoco back in the mid 90's. I signed with them after being told that they wanted to drill AC. Three years later CHK came in and wanted to re-enter a well that had been drilled to WX in 85 on my property and deepen it to Chalk. Amoco sat on me and waited CHK out. In the past 2-3 years Kirk has told me that Amoco had no intentions of drilling AC at that time. So they held me out of the market for a very low bonus and rental. So I'm skeptical of anything told to me by anyone in the industry that's doing leasing.

Glad to learn East Feliciana TMS activity is returning..

I had a friend call me yesterday and say he had been contacted by a Landman interested in leasing a small tract that he owns South of Clinton. The offer is $200.00 an acre for a 3 year lease. He said, "That seems low". Anybody have any calls recently? And what are the offers?

Joe, how far south of Clinton?

Bluff Creek area. If you look on Kirk's map of the area there is a square block (maybe a unit???) shown in what appears to be the area that this guy has property in. Is there a TMS unit already formed in the Bluff Cheek area?

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
