  • Cass County
    Stroud Petroleum will drill the Gorgan Minerals Well No. 1 to 11,500 feet 4.2 miles northeast of Kildare in the East Linden (Cotton Valley) Field. This well will be drilled in the W. Donaho Survey, A-249 and may be drilled in the Frazier Creek (Upper Smackover) Field or a wildcat field.

Cherokee County
The Bryant Well No. 1 will be drilled to 10,000 feet 3.8 miles northeast of Wells in a wildcat field by Culver & Cain Production. This well is in the J. Durst Survey, A-15.


  • Freestone County
    XTO Energy will drill three wells.
    The J.M. Pollard Gas Unit Well No. 29 will hit 13,500 feet 3.3 miles northwest of Donie in the Freestone (Cotton Valley-Bossier Shale) Field. The well is in the Mrs. E.H. Howell Survey, A-720.
The J.M Pollard Gas Unit Well No. 38 will hit 13,600 feet in the Freestone (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field in the R. Lauderdale Survey, A-391. The well may be drilled in the Freestone (Travis Peak) Field.
The C.C. Thompson Gas Unit Well No. 41 will hit 13,600 feet 7.9 miles southeast of Teague in the Freestone (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. The well is in the J.L. Chavert Survey, A-10.
Windrush Operating will drill the Braveheart Well No. 2 to 17,630 feet 2.5 miles northwest of Buffalo in the Freedom (Travis Peak) Field. This well is in the W.S. Wallace Survey, A-640.

  • Gregg County
    The Hiett Gas Unit Well No. 1H will be drilled by Burk Royalty to 10,700 feet in the North Lansing (Cotton Valley, Lower) Field. This well is in the E.G. Page Survey, A-164 and may be drilled in a wildcat field.

  • Henderson County
    XTO Energy will drill five new wells to 12,500 feet 7.7 miles southwest of Athens in the Tri-Cities (Cotton Valley) Field. The wells are in the W. Kay Survey, A-421.

The wells are designated the H.P. Barton Gas Unit Well No. 6, Well No. 7, Well No. 8, Well No. 10 and Well No. 11.

  • Johnson County
    The Cart Barn-Cole (SA) Well No. 2H will be drilled by Chesapeake Operating to 9,000 feet 3.5 miles southwest of Cleburne in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field. The well is in the J. Pennington Survey, A-704.

Chesapeake Operating will drill two wells in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field to 9,000 feet.
The Alvarado Welborn Well No. 5H is 10.6 miles northeast of Alvarado in the N.C. Laughlin Survey, A-515.
The Little Hoss 7 Well No. E5H is 9.8 miles east of Granbury in the J.F. Randel Survey, A-733.

  • Limestone County
    The Byrd Gas Unit Well No. 9 will be drilled 11.6 miles southeast of Thornton in the Bald Prairie (Cotton Valley Consolidated) Field. XTO Energy will drill the well to 14,400 feet in the M.C. Rejon Survey, A-26.

  • Nacogdoches County
    The Westerners DU Well No. 1H will be drilled to 19,500 feet two miles northeast of Chireno in the Carthage (Haynesville Shale) Field by XTO Energy. This well is in the Jose Ignacio Y'Barbo Survey, A-60.

EOG Resources will drill the Trainer Trust Well No. 2H to 14,370 feet 2.8 miles southwest of Chireno in the Carthage (Haynesville Shale) Field. The well is in the J.A. Chireno Survey, A-17.

  • Panola County
    Devon Energy will drill the Hebert Well No. 25 to 11,000 feet 6.9 miles southwest of Carthage in the Carthage (Cotton Valley) Field. The well is in the M. Parker Survey, A-527.

  • Sabine County
    The McGuire Well No. 1H will be drilled to 14,000 feet 10.6 miles northeast of San Augustine in the Carthage (Haynesville Shale) Field. Chesapeake Operating will drill this well in the H.B. McGuire Survey, A-165.

  • Shelby County
    The J. Risinger GU Well No. 1 will be drilled by Southwestern Energy to 13,000 feet 9.9 miles northeast of San Augustine in the Carthage (Haynesville Shale) Field. This well is in the J. Rowe Survey, A-585.

  • Tarrant County
    The LABC North Well No. 1H will be drilled by Vantage Fort Worth Energy to 8,500 feet within the city limits of Arlington in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field. This well is in the L.T. Perkins Survey, A-1216.

Chesapeake Operating will drill the C.C. Ridglea Well No. 4H and the White South Well No. 2H to 9,000 feet in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field.

The No. 4H is within the city limits of Benbrook in the J. Rogers Survey, A-1265.

The No. 2H is within the city limits of Arlington in the W.W. Warnell Survey, A-1612.

In a lease 22 miles northeast of Fort Worth in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field, Chesapeake Operating will drill the Stone Myers Well No. 2H to 9,000 feet. The well is in the C. Clanton Survey, A-354.

The East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field will see more production as XTO Energy prepares to drill the Windrush Well No. 6H to 10,000 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth. The well is in the L.B. Creswell Survey, A-367.

    Sulphur River Exploration completed the Frost Unit Well No. 1 to 9,945 feet three miles east of Bryans Mill in the Frost Field. On a 64/64-inch choke the well potentialed 60 barrels of crude. Production is in the Smackover.

  • Freestone County
    On a .4687-inch choke the Mount Peyton-FE Hill (SA) Well No. 3H potentialed 13.790 million cubic feet of gas. Devon Energy completed the well to 15,552 feet 5.9 miles northeast of Fairfield. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated.

Apache Corp. completed the Moody Estate Gas Unit 2 Well No. 12H to 14,660 feet 2.3 miles southwest of Fairfield in the Teague Field. On a 48/64-inch choke the well potentialed 2.857 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated.

  • Harrison County
    Tanos Exploration completed the United Resources Well No. 1H to 14,753 feet four miles east of Longview in the North Lansing Field. On a 34/64-inch choke the well potentialed 4.095 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Lower Cotton Valley.

  • Hill County
    The Buck Well No. 2H potentialed 569,000 cubic feet of gas on an open choke. Devon Energy completed the well 16.1 miles northwest of Cleburne in the East Newark Field. This well hit 10,878 feet in the Barnett Shale formation.

  • Houston County
    The John David Well No. 5 was completed by Basa Resources to 1,720 feet 8.9 miles southwest of Kennard in the South Laura LaVelle Field. The well flowed with two barrels of crude, choke size not recorded. Production is in the 1600.

  • Johnson County
    Devon Energy completed three wells in the East Newark (Barnett Shale) Field.
    The Leonard Walls Well No. 1H hit 10,015 feet 12.16 miles northwest of Cleburne and potentialed 285,000 cubic feet of gas on an open choke.
The Joy Graham Well No. 2H hit 11,453 feet 6.3 miles northeast of Cleburne and potentialed 636,000 cubic feet of gas on an open choke.

The Winston Gatlin Well No. 8H hit 10,884 feet 8.2 miles southeast of Cleburne and potentialed 636,000 cubic feet of gas on an open choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

Regal Energy completed the God's Blessing Well No. 1H to 7,787 feet 15 miles southwest of Cleburne in the East Newark Field. On a 19/64-inch choke the well potentialed 1.249 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

EOG Resources completed three new wells in the East Newark Field.

The Hoffman Unit Well No. 3H hit 11,218 feet 5.8 miles northeast of Godley. On a 64/64-inch choke the well potentialed 2.593 million cubic feet of gas.

The Ford Unit Well No. 2H hit 12,840 feet 4.8 miles northeast of Godley. On a 64/64-inch choke the well potentialed 3.279 million cubic feet of gas.

The Ford Unit Well No. 3H hit 12,520 feet 4.8 miles northeast of Godley. On a 64/64-inch choke the well potentialed 2.687 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

Chesapeake Operating completed the Hadley Well No. 4H, the Hadley Well No. 5H and the Cooper Well No. 14H in the East Newark Field.

The No. 4H and the No. 5H are 7.9 miles northwest of Cleburne.

The No. 4H hit 9,994 feet. On a .75-inch choke the well potentialed 1.844 million cubic feet of gas.

The No. 5H hit 9,477 feet. On a .75-inch choke the well potentialed 2.675 million cubic feet of gas.

The No. 14H hit 11,170 feet 5.7 miles northwest of Cleburne and potentialed 3.979 million cubic feet of gas on a 1-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

Devon Energy completed five wells designated the Bruno Czajkowski Well No. 5, Bruno Czajkowski Well No. 6, the Bruno Czajkowski Well No. 7, the Bruno Czajkowski Well No. 9 and the Bruno Czajkowski Well No. 10 in the East Newark Barnett Shale Field.

The No. 5 hit 10,087 feet 15.2 miles northeast of Cleburne. On an open choke the well potentialed 2.874 million cubic feet of gas.

The No. 6 hit 11,015 feet 15.8 miles northeast of Cleburne and on an open choke the well potentialed 3.661 million cubic feet of gas.

The No. 7 well hit 11,150 feet 15.8 miles northeast of Cleburne and on an open choke the well potentialed 2.846 million cubic feet of natural gas.

The No. 9 hit 11,386 feet 2.1 miles northeast of Cleburne and on an open choke the well potentialed 2.294 million cubic feet of gas.

The No. 10 hit 9,325feet 2.1 miles northeast of Cleburne and on an open choke the well potentialed 1.492 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

In a lease 1.3 miles southwest of Lillian in the East Newark Field, EOG Resources completed the Fleming Trust Well No. 3H to 11,680 feet. On an open choke the well potentialed 5,100 million cubic feet of. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

In a lease 2.1 miles northwest of Cleburne in the East Newark Field, Chesapeake Operating completed three additional wells. The wells are the Sandlin Well No. 2H, Sandlin Well No. 3H, and Sandlin Well No. 4H.

Well No. 2H hit 12,562 feet. On a 1-inch choke the well potentialed 4.281-million cubic feet of gas.

Well No. 3H hit 11,548 feet and on a 1-inch choke the well potentialed 3.576 million cubic feet of gas.

Well No. 4H hit 11,587 feet and potentialed 3.432 million cubic feet of gas a 1-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

  • Panola County
    Anadarko E&P completed the CGU 7 Well No. 17 to 9,918 feet 5.1 miles southwest of Carthage in the Carthage Field. The well potentialed 127,000 feet of gas on an adjustable choke. Production is in the Cotton Valley.

Devon Energy completed the M.L. Davis Well No. 1 to 9,670 feet nine miles southwest of Carthage in the Carthage Field. On an adjustable choke the well potentialed 47,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley.

On a 58/64-inch choke the Hancock-Smith Gas Unit Well No. 2H potentialed 9.896 million cubic feet of gas. Samson Lone Star completed this well to 13,757 feet in the Southeast Carthage Field. The well is in Panola with production in the Cotton Valley.

Devon Energy completed the Carthage Gas Unit 110 Well No. 15 to 9,680 feet 6.7 miles southwest of Carthage in the Carthage Field. On an adjustable choke the well potentialed 979,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley.

On a 16/64-inch choke the Dunaway Gas Unit Well No. 1H potentialed 3.842 million cubic feet of gas. Chesapeake Operating completed the well to 15,335 feet. Production is in the Haynesville Shale.

Bowles Energy completed the Olin Industries Well No. 5 to 7,000 feet 14.7 miles southeast of DeBerry in the Belle Bower Field. On a 1/2-inch choke the well potentialed 111,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Travis Peak.

  • Robertson County
    The Bald Prairie Field has seen the Commander Gas Unit Well No. 1 completed by O'Benco to 12,197 feet 11.7 miles northwest of Franklin. On a 16/64-inch choke the well potentialed 4.107 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley.

On a 24/64-inch choke the Devon Fee 6 Gas Unit Well No. 2 potentialed 2.686 million cubic feet of gas. O'Benco completed this well to 12,360 feet 8.5 miles northwest of Franklin in the Bald Prairie Field. Production is in the Cotton Valley Consolidated.

  • Rusk County
    M.E. Operating and Services completed the Jones Well No. 2 to 9,800 feet 2.1 miles west of Minden in the West Minden Field. On a 16/64-inch choke the well potentialed 386,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Rodessa Hill.

On a 20/64-inch choke the Landon Well No. 6 potentialed 238,000 cubic feet of gas. El Paso E&P completed the to 10,950 feet 5.3 miles southeast of Henderson. Production is in the Travis Peak Consolidated.

  • San Augustine County
    Cabot Oil & Gas completed the B. Burdette OU Well No. 1H to 13,232 feet 6.6 miles northwest of San Augustine in the Angie Field. On a 25/64-inch choke the well flowed 1.175 million barrels of crude. Production is in the Pettet. (The correct figures are 67.0 bbls oil, 0.887 mcf gas, 1175 psi flowing tubing pressure. jf)

Exco Operating completed the Red River 365 B Well No. 2H to 19,839 feet 6.7 miles northeast of Attoyac in the Carthage Field. On a 20/64-inch choke the well potentialed 18.071 million cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Haynesville Shale.

    XTO Energy completed the Edwards Overland NW C Unit Well No. 4H, the Edwards Overland NW F Unit Well No. 2H, the Edwards Overland SE B Unit Well No. 2H and the Meacham Well No. W 15H in the East Newark Field.

The Edwards Overland NW C Unit Well No. 4H hit 11,275 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 4.720 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

The Edwards Overland NW F Unit Well No. 2H hit 12,310 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 3.885 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

The Edwards Overland SE B Unit Well No. hit 12,135 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 2.351 million cubic feet of gas on a 64/64-inch choke.

The Meacham Well No. W 15H hit 11,436 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 3.606 million cubic feet of gas on a 31/48-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

Chesapeake Operating completed seven new wells in the East Newark Field.
The Airplane Well No. 5H hit 11,836 feet 2.67 miles northwest of Crowley an on a .4687-inch choke potentialed 6.343 million cubic feet of gas.

The Ford Unit Well No. 1H hit 9,987 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and on a .75-inch choke potentialed 5.226 million cubic feet of gas.

The Risinger Well No. 7H hit 12,127 feet 1.7 miles northwest of Crowley and potentialed 2.797 million cubic feet of gas on a .75-inch choke.

The Poly Well No. 3H hit 10,510 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 3.004 million cubic feet of gas on a .75-inch choke.

The WB 358 A Well No. 2H hit 9,362 feet 9.8 miles southwest of Fort Worth and potentialed 769,000 cubic feet of gas on a .75-inch choke.

The Poly Well No. 3H hit 10,510 feet within the city limits of Fort Worth and potentialed 3.004 million cubic feet of gas.

The Risinger Well No. 8H hit 10,194 feet 1.7 miles northwest of Crowley and potentialed 2.143 million cubic feet of gas on a .75-inch choke. Production is in the Barnett Shale.

On an open choke the Veale Ranch Well No. 41 potentialed 1.597 million cubic feet of gas. This well hit 10,360 feet six miles southeast of Aledo in the East Newark Field. Devon Energy completed this well in the Barnett Shale formation.

  • Upshur County
    Devon Energy completed the L.C. Hill Well No. 2 to 11,900 feet 2.4 miles southwest of Pritchett in the North Wilkins Field. On a 32/64-inch choke the well potentialed 739,000 cubic feet of gas. Production is in the Cotton Valley Sand.
