Reuters 5/13/2026
The Energy Information Administration expects the Permian Basin and Haynesville Shale to drive US dry natural gas production to a record 110.6 Bcf/d in 2026 and 115 Bcf/d in 2027. However, domestic gas use is projected to ease to 91.2 Bcf/d this year from a record 91.9 Bcf/d in 2025 and rebound to 94.4 Bcf/d in 2027. Meanwhile, liquefied natural gas exports are poised for fresh records of 17 Bcf/d in 2026 and 18.2 Bcf/d in 2027.
