What does the royalty provision in your lease say?

I think if they keep this up... there will be state and federal questions about fairness and accounting hanky-panky.  Voices will be heard.

I'm not sure what you mean?  We don't have any facts here other than some costs were deducted from the royalty payment of the OP.  It might be that the royalty clause specifically allows for compression and transportation costs.

So, you're saying you want the government to get involved? But only sometimes.  When you need them.  The lease is a contract between the lessor and lessee.  Each party has the ability to access the courts to ensure the contract is adhered to.  I am not sure what federal or state regulatory scheme addresses fairness or accounting hanky panky.

it is all government regulated. but most state employees , according to my info get paid off. some will not even answer the phone and if they do, they tell you another lie.

the terms of your lease are not state regulated.  it's a contract, enforceable in a court of equity.

government and a mountain of lawsuits would be the worst thing to happen.  but even with a good lawyer, royalty owners are at a disadvantage because we don't have deep pockets and we don't live as long as o/g companies.  also... every time i've contacted the texas rr commission and talked with a person... or a staff lawyer... i received  quality help and advice.  it just takes a while to find that person.

Please give us a bit more information....  How much gas was produced, and what price did the gas sell for?

Join the crowd keven, they are all crooks when they start paying. when leasing they are the most wonderful smooth friendlly people you have ever met. would Chesapeake you are dealing with, would it.they top the list of the biggest liars in the oil field.

OK THIS IS KEVIN JONES. I HAVE BE ADVISED BY MY ATTORNEYS TO GET EOG TO GIVE ME A ACCOUNTING OF EXPENSES ON THIS WELL FOR EVERY MONTH THAT IT HAS BEEN IN PRODUCTION.THAT WAY I CAN SEE WHAT MY PART ON OF THE EXPENCES ARE . I HAVE INTREST IN A LOT OF GAS WELL. BUT NONE HOLD OUT 50%OF THE ROYALTY.  YES YOU ARE RIGHT THEY ARE CROOKS. THANKS FOR ALL THE COMENTS

better get your attorney to do it. I tried for six months and they would not admit to holding out anything. One day, and employee sent me a copy.  I asked about coppies for two more months. no answer. called on telephone. Oh, we will get it out to you. Never got anything emailed untill they quite answering my email. made a telephone call, and this very rude employee said "we do not have to send you copies and we are not going send out anymore. One thing about it, i made them tell lie after lie for about a year. All i got out of was they about broke, they are big liars. they pay the wheels with big money and let small landowner slid.

I got my reply from CHK when I sent a certified letter. They responded right away. Not what I wanted to hear, but they responded.

'force them to cease production'  In short, that is a very bad suggestion...dumb, dumb, dumb!!!  That is all I would need to hear from that Attorney in order to never contact him again.  First, he is an Attorney, not an oil and gas expert who knows the pros and cons of shutting-in producing wells especially ones that are young in there production life.  Second, if you could legally force cessation, which I highly doubt, can that Attorney asure you that cessation will not damage the well (short and long term) and that the well will produce the same after as before cessation?  I'll answer that for yall...no he cannot nor could anyone else with certainty but the petroleum engineers who know these type wells and formations will not recommend it.
