Any thoughts on the estimated recoverable reserves in the core area????

You are the expert. I am not in any way trying to dispute what you say.

The discussion just tweaked my curiosity.

I know these companies are all trying to "hype" their stock.

I'm just blown away by assuming HALF of what they are stating.

Also a lot of these areas haven't been drilled for other formations and could end up with lagniappe there or in deeper formations.

Like I said to KB, I'm not trying to sell kool-aid. I'm just trying to figure out who put what is which flavor kool-aid.

do you have any knowledge about northwest natch. parish. we are leased to anadarko and have a well currently staked in our section. hearing is being held in shreveport thursday about creating nine additional drilling units all south of the messenger well. how do you feel about the results of the messenger well and the area in general? the well in our section is going to be horizontal.
thanks for the info have you heard any reliable information on flow rates for the messenger well?

Sorry -- to ask a stupid question but how far away is dogwood from the core ?
i saw a workover rig on the messenger well last week wonder what they were doing.
DD, not odd given it is a vertical well.
Will drilling continue in the core area even with the downturn. We also have land right dead center in the core but it is hbp from long ago. Hopefully will get big royalties at some point down the road.

Drilling will continue: the downside for you is that it may not occur right away.

Many holders of HBP property will contemplate whether to make a suitable deal to one of the other HS players, or to develop their HS themselves or with a partner. HBP leasehold owners have the benefit of time on their side, which is good in that there is no need for them to drill an ill-advised vertical well to the HS (since they are not rushed to convert their leases to HBP status).

Where it is not good for you in that (1) no bonus, rentals, etc. monies are forthcoming for you, (2) your lease royalty is what it is (and if your lease has been held for a while, chances are you are looking at 1/5 RI or less vs. 1/4 in new leases), and (3) your lessee/operator may have little or no experience with HS, or the will to develop it at this time.

If an area is represented as being an area of more thickness on an icopach map (i.e. 300 feet instead of the usual 150), would this indicate the possibility of being in a "sweet spot"?

If so, how significant of a difference does it make?
