Exxon, XTO Probably Won't Face U.S. Fracturing Rules

Jan. 21 (Bloomberg) -- Exxon Mobil Corp., XTO Energy Inc. and other shale-gas producers probably won’t face U.S. rules that would add costs of $100,000 a well, given comments at a Congressional hearing yesterday and the loss of a Senate seat by majority Democrats, FBR Capital Markets Corp. analysts said.

Any person can go through every little piece of paper and search for something that will back their point of view. Pollution to auquifiers is a documented fact that happened in the Barnett shale and it is happening in the Fayetteville Shale. This is caused by over Fracturing, low quality stem pipe rupturing below the surface, and accidental hazardous waste spills above surface that are not contained. No one wants it to happen, but it happens to even the best. Some of the time this not being documented. I have the documents, photographs, and on two occasions I was standing there taking digital photographs with no agenda. I'm not going to comment on Obama's EPA, their understanding of oil and gas, or their qualifications to be an all around EPA official. Just look at our Treasury Secretary. I see anti oil and gas. I am not anti oil and gas. I am for oil and gas all the way. And, I am very sincere with this. Cary

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
