Greetings. Can anyone help me figure out how to calculate a royalty payment if our well came in at 6940 mcf? How do I convert mcf to the Mmcf per day that most royalty calculators ask for? Thanks.

6940 mcf = 6.94 mmcf.  When you see mcf, think three zeros.

Frank,

mcf = thousand cubic feet

mmcf = million cubic feet

So 6940 mcf well equals 6.94 mmcf

Keep in mind most royalty calculators do not account for decline

So 218697 mcf would convert to be 218.697 mmcf?

So now do you have to divide the 218.697 by 30 days to get the mmcf per day? So would this equal 218.697/30=  7.289/day?

Is the 7.289 the number you have to put into the gas calculator?

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
