Hello everyone.  I am finding it very difficult to simply calculate **GAS PROD (MCF) ** to Actual Dollar Amount for Bienville Parish, Louisiana.  Is there a simple way to just figure the dollar amount of what has been pumped directly from the well based on current market prices?  On 2-1-2011 the well produced 11619 GAS PROD (MCF).  On 5-1-2011 the well produced 194530 GAS PROD (MCF).  Those production levels are the lowest and highest recorded to date.  How do I calculate based on the price of gas being purchased, sold, and transacted through the marketplace?  Do I multiply the production levels by the market price and if so how do I find out the market price.  I would greatly appreciate it if someone could just figure it out for me and let me know how you derived at your answer for the two production levels below.

On 2-1-2011 the well produced 11619 GAS PROD (MCF).  On 5-1-2011 the well produced 194530 GAS PROD (MCF).

Thanks.

Thomas, unless you can view a copy of a royalty statement for the well in question, you will not know and can not calculate the price paid.  And of course that price will vary by month.  Gas marketing is complex and so arcane as to be beyond the grasp of all but experts in the field.  You can always guess but the best approach would be to give the well serial number or the location by section-township-range and see if any GHS members with minerals in that well or others in the immediate vicinity with the same operator will share the price they have received.
