Les, am I reading this correctly?

.

Does Caddo Parish only have two Haynesville wells being drilled right now?  and that's one less from the last report?  If so, that's a huge drop.  I knew it was fewer, but I had no idea it was that few!

.

That's because of the better prospects for "wet gas" elsewhere in Louisiana and other places??

thanks for posting this.

Hopeful, yes Caddo Parish is now at two HS rigs and that is down from eight just 5 months ago.

Operators continue to shift drilling activity to oil and "wet" gas plays.  The rig count in the Haynesville/Bossier Shale will likely continue to decline but should stabilize in the 60 to 70 range.

Les - is that 60-80 rigs total operating in the HS?  Is that all of the operating wells (rigs) in the HS?  All the wells pumping gas??

thanks for helping me understand this.

Hopeful, please do not confuse drilling rigs with producing gas wells.  There are thousands of producing gas wells in the Haynesville Shale.  The rigs just drill the wells and then move on.  The existing wells would continue to produce even if there were no drilling rigs but total field production would decline.

thanks les - I've got it.  i am still a rank newbe about the o&g work on the ground.

Does anybody know where Rowan rig #59 is located at this time?

Fred, that is now the Ensign #759 Rig and I do not know where it is located currently.
