Information From LOC
Question: Can a royalty owner go down to the Shreveport LOC office and review well files and other information?
I am fairly proficient in getting well documents on SONRIS but I am finding that the online cache is not always complete. I am particularly interested in work permits, well general correspondence, and minutes of hearings leading up to the issuance of field orders and drilling permits. Thanks in advance.

The Office of Conservation, District Six office, is open to the public. Anyone may access the records on file. However it is best to review the reports contained in the SONRIS Classic portion of the database in addition to SONRIS Lite before making the trip. Files for wells being drilled or completed may not be available if they are being updated by staff. The staff is quite helpful though short handed. If a well file is not in the filing cabinet you can ask them if they have time to find it for you. The LOC office is on the sixth floor.
