I have inherited some royalties in the S O Pennington survey, Shelby Co. My mother bought them in 1943. I have a division order for the S.E. Lambert Unit #1. I cannot identify the well on the TRRC maps. There are some 23 wells in the Pennington survey and only one dry hole, all the rest are producing gas wells. I assume the TRRC maps are up to date and none of these wells are actually plugged long ago. Does any one recall a SE Lambert Unit #1 in this survey.

Well this is really great. Thanks Hardage. I now know where the acreage is. I do like to start my quest with some idea of what has happened and where I want to go. You are spot on with your advice. I will be calling the District Clerk first thing in the morning. 1. The first item of business is to order copies of some of the pages I was unable to download without horrible distortion. I think that is deliberate so you can't download a lot of stuff. 2. Get prices from her as to recording fees for the wills, probates, ltrs testamentary, probate, etc. which will be required to prove who I am. Will then need certified copies for the court. 3. Discuss back taxes. 4. Then determine what she suggests I have to do to get my money.

The next question is to whom do I go to get new division orders in my name. I assume that is whoever is paying royalties to the Court. But is that Classic or Grand. I am a little foggy on this one.

In the event I get a run around, and I don't think I will frankly, then I am off to ole Center Texas on Thursday.
Believe I should also file a warranty deed. Is being recognized as owner of occur in the natural course of events we are discussing or is this something else'. I assume I would have to satisfy the payor copany just like I would the oourt. Wills, death certificates, etc, etc. I have been doing this for the last two months with other companies whose royalties had slipped throgh the cracks. From the plat it looks like the only well from which production would be relevant at this time would be the BP Taylor # 3, but also would not the #1and #2 be relavant since they are in the unit.
John, which Taylor Wells or Unit is it in Shelby? Would it be D.R. Taylor? Would this unit happen to be around the Joaquin Area?
Looks to be the BP W.M. Taylor. The Units in there are pretty complicated but I think it is al least those.
The D R Taylor wells appear to be in the northern portion of the Pennington survey. The Pennington Survey is SW of Yoaquin. The NE corner touches the town of Joaquin.
Go to the Texas Railroad Commission DIS map site and you can look at the lease yourself and click on the well symbol to see what it is.
I have been in contact with the clerk of the district court on this matter and am unravelling what needs to be done. It seems that the royalties from the production has been co-mingled with that from three other unfound royalty owners, so who knows how the monies will break out. We will see. Some of the owners hold different amounts of acre interest. An interesting problem. Just thought I would update those of you who have been so helpful. Thanks again. Will post another update when something happens.
john--interesting to follow--also are you contiguous with the Goodrich well presently drilling the R Dean Hays #1 & #2H? I guess your minerals are HBP as ULMO by default since you where lost and will your % royalty calculated be the avg of the royalty in the other old leases or do you have any legal right to renegoitation of royalty % since you never sign lease. I would think they would now need a lease from you now that you have ID yourself as minerals owner? I bet a good landsman could find the other unfound royalty owners if took the time. maybe in your search you could get a finders fee if you find them.
I do think that it would not have been to difficult to have tracked down my mother. know that anyone could have found the heirs of my mother without too much trouble. I do not think that they tried very hard. Maybe I am wrong.

No the Goodrich well is just west of my interest. If it is a good one though some of my acreage might wind up in a unit at some later date.
