I am interested in learning about the relationship between companies and landowners.  I am 24, I am not a landman, but I do have family with land scattered throughout Bossier, Caddo, and DeSoto Parishes.  Growing up, I became familiar with the production side of the industry, but since the popularity of the Haynesville and Bossier Shales, I have become more intrigued by the business aspect.  It appears as though there is a lack of communication between the landowners, and the individuals interested in the profitability of a business agreement.  If you have sold or leased, and would change anything about the process, what would it be?  If not, are there hesitations about dealing with the landmen or representatives?  It seems, along with several other situations, there is a disconnect between the investment side and the seller.  Is it better to work with a company's representative, a middle man, or directly with the company?  I have been told I could never be a sales person, though I love to talk, but I am awful at soliciting.  I can research, however, and perhaps something will come of it.  Thank you in advance!

Check out the Haynesville Shale Blogs on the Internet. They are just not my cup of tea. I like the website format that facilitates interaction. And GHS is the best. If you enjoy research, spend some time on SONRIS, Lite and Classic. The HS Play will out last most of the current members of the site. And there are numerous opportunities to be explored.
Some of us are young enough that we are planning on being around more than the expected 50 years of production.

And since I'm female, I'm obviously 29.
Uh, parker. Since the discovery of the Bossier, I think Les B. is now predicting 60 to 80 years of production. LOL! Still since you are 29, you got a chance. Right?
Thank you for your responses! I've read blogs over the last few weeks, and I've become relatively familiar with Sonris. They provide plenty of information, but I am also a fan of interaction. I will take the last two classes in the Fall to finish my Biology degree, and I am not good at sitting around. I grew up in Haughton, and completed most of my college career in Lafayette. Like I have read on posts here, there are ample rumors, that is why this site is so great. It provides information from every direction. Thank you for providing these services. Much of my family is not acquainted with the internet. If it isn't in a book, they aren't exposed to it. I'm a little more comfortable with technology. I am attempting to learn all aspects, so when someone asks a question, I can provide an informed answer rather than speculation. Also, if I can talk to people face to face, hopefully I will be able to shed some light on an otherwise unfamiliar subject.
