Are units located in the Lower Cotton Valley still cosidered to be in South Caddo's Cotton Valley? Paticularly section 33, 16n-13w elm grove.

Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant on February 11, 2012 at 4:45 Drilling & Production Units are defined in their applications and orders by depth definitions citing the logs of nearby wells. The depth definition is more important than the formation name that is used in the app/order. For example all Haynesville Units have depth definitions which include the Mid-Bossier and there are CV and LCV units that include both the Bossier and the Haynesville. See this blog for examples.
