New ALT Unit Wells on same pad completed on same date moving forward at different rates

Hello,

This is about four (4) new Comstock ALT Unit wells I've asked about before, but have a different question. The wells cross sections 5-32-29 (my section is 32) Spider field – As Staked Surface: Sec 008; T.ship 11N; R: 14W (DeSoto).

  1. Each well's Sonris Scout Report shows a completion date of 06/26/2026 (status 10).
  2. Two wells (Whitson 001 and 002) report production for June and July applied to each of the three LUW codes. June Total MCF: 283,00. July Total: 3,406,000 (rounded).
  3. No production reported as of yet for Speights 001 or Speights 002, and 002 is still at status 31 – see attached screenshot for reference.

Question: Is this common for new ALT Unit wells? And/or does that indicate a problem somehow that will delay me getting division orders and, ultimately start getting paid?

Just curious. Thanks in advance to Skip or anyone who might shed some light here.

Jimmy, there are no regulations for timing of operators reporting completed wells.  At least none that the state enforces.  Operators are left to do whatever they wish.  Part of the process is that completion reports must be reviewed at the district level first then in Baton Rouge before they are approved.  Then the data is entered in the database.  Timing for data being available on SONRIS is dependent on those several steps and how busy the SONRIS staff is at any given time.  Since C&E no longer publishes a staff directory, it is impossible to know how many positions are vacant.  The review process has been lengthy for data such as LUW Codes for new wells and it is hard to know how that may have changed over the last year.  In 2025 there were over one hundred wells reported complete that had no reported monthly production because of the LUW codes.  If you don't find the report of the Speights wells by the end of the month, let me know and I will check on them.

Thank you Skip, that's very helpful and I totally understand. As to the LUW codes, those listed for the Whitson wells that reported production (under Lease/Unit/Well Association History) are the same codes as each affected unit well. I'm assuming that's normal. To the Speights well, I'll let you know if I don't get a report. I appreciate it!

You're welcome.  The vast majority of HA units have existing LUW codes.  Those will not change unless an operator applies to dissolve an existing unit in order to reconfigure it

Got it!
