I've been following this map for a while, I like the prospective in gives you. I noticed the actual number of wells currently being drilled has gone from 60 to 74 over the last few weeks.
Catfish, the number of currently drilling wells is ~ 84 as of last Friday.

Les has your count been increasing and does it only include HA wells?
Baker Hughs data shows 89 active rigs in North LA for the week of Sept. 4.
Catfish, yes - my count is only Haynesville Shale wells in Louisiana.
Les B, I sent you a post on the Sabine Parish site but here you are! They moved the Trinidad 107 onto the Labokay 27 location. It's up and running. Also a Nomac rig will be moving in on the well that was permitted today in sec 28 10 13. These two locations are about 1/2 mile apart. RR.
RR, thanks for the updates. I will include in tomorrow's update.
Any ideas why that area all along the Red River and De Soto line is void of HA units?
Maybe it's hbp, just guessing.
irregular units is my guess
Hey, guys. Figure out the townships representing those blank areas, go to SONRIS, search Wells By S-T-R and leave the section space blank. Just input township and range. Then scroll through and notice the Code 10 wells and their dates. Vertical Pugh clauses did not show up in O&G leases until the early 1970's and even then were not widely used. Any units with producing wells prior to that time are most likely holding leases to "all depths". There are quite a few representing large acreages prospective for the HS.
Good post Skip.

All you have to do is to drive up Highway one and see all the old wells still pumping away. I still believe that the majority of development we have seen falls into two catagories:

1) drilling to test the productivity or existance of the shale in each area
2) drilling to HBP

It is obvious that the area along the Red River/ DeSoto line is in the core so no test drilling is needed, and this area is already HBP.
