Who is being paid for the gas that is wasted when a well is flared? A well in northern Sabine Parish has been lighting the sky at night and filling the area with a roar as if a B-52 were approaching but never arriving. This has been going on for several days. I am over 5 miles away and hear it inside my house.

Why would anyone be paid for this? They are spending millions of dollars trying to bring a well in. Come on people use a little common sense, do you actually think they are just blowing a well for the hell of it?

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
