Hate to say it, but they play has basically been defined to its limits, especially in Louisiana. The only possible expansions will be to the south.

I hate to hear that too. How far east does the Shale go and how do you derive this information? I have heard about it going south. There is drilling going on in Jackson parish (which is south of us) and they are saying it is tied to the Bossier Shale. We have an acquaintance who lives there and they are presently drilling on his property. I know I may be grasping at straws but hey...can you blame me? LOL Rumor has it there has been a shale found, not sure of the name, in West Ouachita parish (Cadeville Field) and they have drilled at a total depth of 14,209 ft. Where are you locataed? Well the Haynesville Shale peters out to the east in the vicinity of western Bienville Parish, I havent't heard about any other shale plays in your vicinity. There has always been deep drilling in Jackson Parish tied into the Vernon field. I am sure there are others more knowledgeable who could help you out here, best of luck to you. take all rumours you hear about oil/gas with a few grains of salt, I have never known an industry with more BS than the O/G industry. Looking at sonris there haven't been any deep wells drilled or drilling in Oauchita in the last 2 years, the only Cadeville well I can find is for storage and was drilled to approx 5500 feet.
