PSFK is attending the NADA/IHS Global Insight Automotive Forum today. Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne just delivered the keynote address spending some time talking about a creative reconstruction the company in undertaking.

Marchionne previously with Fiat also responded to a question regarding what a potential front runner for alternative fuel vehicles might be for the US. He noted that Europe has had a much longer period of experimentation and development of EV’s and hybrid vehicles. Marchionne talked about compressed natural gas (CNG) optimistically as one US solution. He stated the US has a enough natural gas supply to power US transportation needs for the next 100 years.

Chrysler will begin selling the popular Fiat 500 later this year in the US. The company expects an electric version of the 500 to eventually be offered for sale.
