Anyone notice the royalty on the Bossier tract where Matador's winning bid was a $9,100.00 bonus?

Actually, the $9,100 bonus bid was rejected:

Did you notice that Matador had two seperate bids on this tract?

Both are posted above. I reposted below.

One with higher bonus and 21% royalty
one with lower bonus and 25% royalty.
Mineral board went with royalty.

Good for the mineral board. I think that's a first. There have been a number of past bids with royalty in excess of 25% but the tracts went to bids with higher bonus and a quarter royalty. Can you remember any other instance of a company offering two bids on the same tract?

not specifically. I do know of several instances where royalty was prefered over bonus. This tends to be the MO for areas with high success rates. The Mineral Board Staff weigh the potential for future benifit over immediate gain.
