I have a question about the well no. 240736 in Desoto Parish in sec 32 15n 14w. We are in section 29 right next to 32 and a friend who is right on the sec. 32 line but in sec 29 said he will get royalties from this well. How is this possible?

Unless your friend owns minerals in Section 32, he/she is mistaken. Unit HA RA SU130 covers only Section 32 and contains the surface location and bottom hole location for 240736.

Skip and other experts, what are your thoughts on the Devon, Lincoln Parish # 241083, seems like a horizontal Lower Cotton Valley. Do you think this production will prompt more drilling in the area. Also, does this production compare with other horizontal cotton valley wells in North Louisisana. Thanks Treeman

treeman, I am unable to compare the prospective status of the cotton valley as a horizontal drilling target in the area of the Devon well to that of other areas. Wherever the cotton valley exhibits sufficient permeability, it will be produced by vertical wells. I assume that the areas being tested with horizontal wells are marginal or not conducive to economic production by verticals.
