does anyone know the weight of a cubic foot of shale?  thanks.

Of the compressed shale underground, or of the drilled cuttings?  Ballpark, I seem to remember about 12 lbs/gallon for wet cuttings - multiply that by 7.48 and that will get a cuttings number per cubic foot.
we contemplated 125 for uncut shale, not being professional as you......  how much varation in organic  material content 40%. recoverable? was trying to figure est recoverable gas  per acre in  fayetteville shale.

I'm speaking more from a waste handling standpoint.  If your looking for energy/gas recovery, hopefully someone else will comment on this thread.
