sesport, maybe. Maybe not. Just because one operator has a majority of acres under lease in a particular section that doesn't necessarily mean they have intentions to develop it. Otherwise they would have applied for a unit order before now. It is hard to overstate the value of contiguous leasehold to the major shale players. In a tight credit market and low NG prices, even the bigger shale players must make tough decisions on where to spend development capital. None wish to invest in an isolated section if they have opportunities to build contiguous blocks in areas that they deem prospective. This is a time for horse trading. And a number of sections such as 10 in 16N - 14W may be on the trading block.
Skip,

I know I ask you every time you post an update, but do you have any new info on Sections 1 and 11 T10N R12w. Also sections 3 and 1 T11 12w

Thanks
WP. Ask and ye shall receive. LOL! In your area of the Play, the most recent news of interest is that Encana is assuming operational control of some SWEPI HA units. And permitting wells. One in your township section 7, San Patricio Cattle 7H (#239979). There should be some activity that is obvious. Some stakes at least but maybe a well pad under construction. You might take a ride and check it out. The results of this well could influence the future level of development in your area. We really would appreciate you or another member watching this well for us. Good Luck.
Thankyou so much Skip for the info it is much appreciated. Which township are you refering to for the well in section 7 I0N llN
I will take a drive and try to keep up with what is going on with this well.
The Encana well above is the one, WP. Section 7 - 10N -11W.

2240' FWL & 500' FNL OF SEC 7 (FWL is From West Line) and FNL (From North Line).

I am so ignorant that I don't know how to read the maps yet. I am in Sec3/Township 16 North/Range 8 west. Where am I on the maps that are shown? Thanks for the help.
philpapa. The squares on the grid are townships. The township numbers run vertically on the left side of the grid from 23 at the top to 3 at the bottom (columns). The range numbers run horizontally at the top from 16 on the left to 2 on the right (rows). Where row 16 intersects column 8, that is Township 16 North - Range 8 West. The township grid is a way to represent the extent of the HS Play and the areas of greatest activity or interest although that level waxes and wanes over time. Your township does not currently have any HA Drilling & Production Unit orders so it is not shaded. Development is moving slowly every where but especially on the edges of the Play boundaries. It may be next year before there is any significant "step out" drilling.

What's wrong in 17N 14W?
Ronny. Please be more specific.
