Can anyone tell me how to search for wells on the new SONRIS by using the section township range? I can't find that feature anywhere. It was easy before. Thanks

Hi Skip,
If it makes you feel any better, I am sad to see the SONRIS Lite go away as well. I will let you know when the tutorial is scheduled. I also plan to record it and update user guides.
Sorry again for the growing pains. And again, this is based on federal web accessibility compliance, not change for sake of change.

Thx
Go to SONRIS Data Portal. Then go to “Well Information Search” from there it will let you search by STR.
Not sure if this link works:

Yes, I have been there and the list that you have to toggle through is a pain and not nearly as good and easy to use as seeing the list for all the historic wells and permitted or drilling wells in each section. In the age of horizontal wells, the old architecture was far superior.

Permalink Reply by Skip Peel - Mineral Consultant 2 hours ago You're welcome, Brian. The SONRIS searches that I do each weekday at the end of the day are the well permits and the applications on the public hearing agenda. The data from both of those searches are then entered in my HA tracking spreadsheet which contains additional data. Whenever a member asks for help, I also include their name on their sections so I can let them know when new wells are permitted, rigs are drilling or wells are completed.

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
