HMM, They sent out pre-application letters back in jan and feb. Maybe they pulled it or something. Now what?? THanks LES!!
RJ, pre-application notice letters are for the formation of drilling units. They are not applications for wells as such but usually precede the permitting of wells. LA. Office of Conservation requires that applicants notice mineral and surface owners of record within the boundaries of a drilling unit and to a distance of 1000' for those adjacent to the unit. The state does not require that the operator of the unit send you notice when they permit a well. You just have to learn how to check for a permit for your section on the SONRIS database. As Les B. indicates there is not one at this time.
Thanks Skip I will try to do that.
IMO, the best way to check for a permit in your section is to use the SONRIS Lite search by Permitted Wells By Date. Once a week, I suggest Friday after 5:00 or anytime over the weekend, enter the month-day-year for that previous Monday through Friday. This will pull up all the permits for that week and is a short list which you can quickly review for permits in your section. When you find a permit or very shortly thereafter, you can review that well in a SONRIS Well File by searching by the well serial number or inputting the section-township-range.
