I sent a letter to XTO 10 days ago requesting that they let me know the status of both the Blue Raider wells and when I could expect royalties-NO answer or response. I faxed the letter so I know they got it. I also wanted to know if any oil came up with the gas and if so would I get paid for that. I don't know how they can get away with not paying a year on one well and 60 days on the other one. I also don't know how to check a status on the wells except the report I saw posted. Can anyone advise me?

There are a few threads on the site that will address this, but easiest fix would be to send the same correspondence cert and Return Receipt. Fax is not legally sufficient for notice, so the companies don't put those in the priority stack.
The well that is a year w/o payment is ripe for a demand letter. 60 days is still reasonable for no payment unless your lease says different, but you can inquire about it to in your certified, return receipt letter.

Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
