Swepi (SHELL OIL) and their phenominal Haynesville Shale track record!

This has been touched on a little bit lately, but I believe it deserves a great deal more attention. I have seen Chesapeake and other operators cussed and discussed on this web site hundreds, maybe thousands of times. However, the one operator that few people talk about, but should probably have more disdain by the mineral owners of Northwest Louisiana IMHO is Shell Oil, you know......ROYAL DUTCH SHELL.......one of the largest international oil companies in the world.......probably the company with the deepest pockets of any company operating in the Haynesville....you know......that company operating under the code name SWEPI ( if I had their track record, I'd want a code name to operate under too) We have 10,000 or so members on this web site. I'd like to pole the membership to find out how many members (and non-members too for that matter) have actually received a royalty check from this company. I would like to know how many members are proud of leasing to
Swepi. I would like to hear from the folks who are happy with the way Shell Oil is developing their mineral estate. I would like to hear from people that think taking over a year to lay a pipeline to a well in their section is a bit much since the other operators seem to be able to do it in a matter of weeks. I would like to hear from folks who think it is rediculous to take 4-6 months to drill a Haynesville well, while he other operators have cut the time to drill down to 40-45 days. I would like to talk to a mineral owner who doesn't think that Sir whatever his name is over in Europe should fire the whole team in charge of the Haynesville and replace them with a group who has some idea what they are doing. My personal perspective is that Shell (SWEPI) should either get serious about developing the Haynesville or sell it to Encana and get the hell out. Who out there even knows where Shell's Field office is anyway? Do they even have one? I've never walked a picket line in my life, but in an effort to embarrass this large International Oil Company based on their incompetence, I'd be willing to walk that one!..............if I knew where they were!

"most profitable in the shale"

Because they put the screws to their landowners.

Bagger, if you do a white pages search on Yahoo it will pull up an office in Mansfield. The best way to get a message back to them is through your landman.
I think I know why they are so slow compared to others. It takes four days of paperwork and safety meetings to open the gate to get on location. God forbid it should be locked, then it takes 4 months of paperwork. I am a strong believer in Safety. I may be the biggest. But dang Elizabeth this is the big one, I'm coming to see ya.
Weren't the problems with 'stuck' equipment and parts because the farther south you are in the play the pressure become higher, and the depth of the well becomes so low that it is more difficult to manage?
Is it also that the wells the farther south you go because of the depth have a higher temperature?
I am in 11n 12w not much activity down this way yet. It is coming as they say.
Note, I am not taking up for SWEPI, but if they or anyone is gong to drill down this way, i want them to have made all the tweaks in the process before they get to my section.
I agree their foot dragging is not helping anyone, it will be interesting to see what their hold up was.
Maybe they just don't have the knowledge and skills on hand to feel comfortable drilling yet?
I am looking forward to more action in the southern area, and seeing some results.
I was once told by someone at SWEPI it was because they were waiting on pipeline. I believe that issue is or will soon be resolved, so I hope they will begin drilling with a vengeance to catch up with everyone else.
VSC,
I'm beginning to be optimistic about SWEPI. The last few completions they reported looked good. Let's hope this is indicative of things to come.
VSC, you must not be paying attention when you say there is not much activity in 11N, 12W. I count 12 sections with wells either permitted, drilling or completed and producing. Several of the sections in11/12 have multiple horizontal Haynesville or Bossier wells in them. Looks to me like it's going pretty well. I do, however wish they'd get to my Sections (33 & 34).
They are finishing up acquiring the pipeline row that goes to the main line. They are very busy drilling and not very busy producing. The treatment facility should be finished by now. When they do go online it will be a lot of wells. That does not take away from the fact that they screwed up their first three wells.
Crunchy, Which three were screwed up?
The first three.
They are literally almost finished acquiring the pipeline row.
I'm in 31. I should rephrase that, and say little if any, production (sales->royalties) yet.
Well 240249 T14/R9/sec7 Red River Parish just received a division order this is listed as a SWEPI on SONRIS but order came from Encana. Maybe Encana taking over on some wells. I know some people get 2 checks one from Encana and another from Shell for the same well which I dont understand. We will see what happens and let ya'll know
Splicer, the reason for two royalty checks is each company owns 50% of the lease agreement and probably markets their own share of production.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling

Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…
