I had heard this well was completed and was good but I haven't seen any hard data myself.
larry,

SONRIS says WAITING ON STATE POTENTIAL.
Sometimes the pipeline is not ready, or theyt need to get accurate tests of gas composition before putting the gas into a sales line. Also after the fracs are complete the well needs to flow back, a good deal of water and N2 will be returned, any nat. gas will be flared off.
Larry:

The permit for this well (SN 237942) was issued for June 16. The well was actually spudded July 1, and reached MD (15,900') on August 20.

No additional information is given on the completion that the operator was 'waiting for' after September 9. MIraculously, over three months later, as of the December 24 scout report, suddenly the operator is now just waiting for state potential.

Some multistage frac job occurred in the interim, we just don't know what it was, or when it occurred, except that it was after September 9 (unless some shaler / scout happens to know and would be willing to report). Meanwhile, an impatient public has now been 'waiting on state potential' for almost a month. Chances are all of this information will be released at one time. There are no internet references or CHK press releases re: Venus to report.

CHK does have a hearing scheduled on the 27th of this month to apply for two new Haynesville units, but the HA RA SUR already is approved and encompasses the section in question (Order No. 994-D-2), so chances are the upcoming meeting has nothing to do with the timing of the release of information for this well. There are a couple of wells in the field that are "hanging out in the weeds" though. Maybe the latest batch of results will be announced simultaneously.

Waiting with baited breath...
