WVLandOwner - Once upon a time in the '70s and 80's, we were a "one horse town," too. Our economic horse was the oil industry. Not a good idea to put all the eggs in one basket, so I can empathize with the impact you may be in fear of happening.

Having been there, done that, I think we've turned around rather nicely. Oh, we're not the top dog on the economic heap, but we're coming along with diversification & some forward thinking planning.

Seems like they are talking getting oil from Russia and say later it could be four hundred per bbl. What is wrong with ours? How about all that new discovery around Montana or S. Dakota. We have a lot of oil in the U.S.l If we as Americans are not for ourselves, who in "heck" are we for???? LOL I cannot believe we do not use our own things and become independent again. I think people are learning and we could come out much stronger later for the problems now. Or we could come up without a country to call our own. Who knows? Our dollar is certainly not popular with others now.
