whats the lastest news on this well
John, I won't have any news until the weekly rig report comes out on Friday. If it's late in the evening, as it often is, I will update all the TMS wells on Saturday morning.
Trinidad Drilling 124 reported Spud 10/16, 16 days Drilling Ahead 10/31.
"Encana Mathis 29-17H-1, located on the same pad as Mathis 29-32H-1 off of Bean Road west of Gillsburg in south Amite County. Trinidad Rig # 124 spud October 17. Surface casing is in place and intermediate should be by early next week" - as of Friday Oct. 28 per Bernell McGehee of Liberty,Ms.
Trinidad Drilling 124 reported 23 days Drilling Ahead 11/7.
Being on the same well pad , does this mean the same land is involved in this well as the first Mathis well. Or just some of it ???
No. The wells are drilling two separate units. It is common for a pad to have horizontal wells drilling in different directions. One unit is made up of lands in Sections 17 and 29 (well drilling north) and the other unit is Sections 29 and 32 (well drilling south). It is possible that a tract could be split between the two units but that would not be the "same land" strictly speaking.
After I asked ,I looked up the maps and noticed the pad was close to the line of two units....I see a lot of this in Miss. on the maps.....I hear the first Mathis is a good well..
One of the advantages of an unconventional reservoir is the ability for an operator to use common infrastructure for multiple wells and to develop by pad drilling. The Mathis 29-32H produced 1300 BOED (92% OIL), with a ~6,400' lateral and 17 frac stages. If there are no problems the Mathis 29-17H should be a little better well.
A Mineral Owner in the first Mathis told me that their first royalty check was an exciting one.....
First checks are the highest for two reasons: they represent the well's best production and they are for more than a month of production. A first check will be for more than the usual 30 or 31 day period. It can often be for a couple of months. Shale wells deplete rather quickly. Monthly payments will decrease accordingly.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
