I don't have anything yet William. Check back Friday evening when the rig report comes out.
Trinidad Drilling Rig #125 reported Sabine 12H #1 Spud Date 6/19 - 2 days Drilling Ahead, 6/20.
Thanks for the update
You're welcome, William. Please edit you discussion title to include the section-township-range like the other well discussions in the group. It helps members with location identification.

Trinidad Drilling Rig #125 reported Sabine 12H #1 Spud Date 6/19 - 13 days Drilling Ahead, 7/3.
Thanks for the update. Sure do appreciate you keeping is informed. What is the approximate number of days for these wells to reach depth?
You're welcome, William. 35 days, give or take 5 if no mechanical problems. There are also variations as to depth. Measured Depth (MD) varies from ~ 18,000 to 22,000. Reaching TD does not end rig ops. After TD the rig will condition the wellbore, run production casing and cement it. Then the rig is broken down and transported to the next location, rigged up and spud.
Thanks for the information.
What is latest news on Sabine well(s)? Did they actually drill two wells at same time?
Heard rumor they are currently running core samples.
is that correct?
No. One well drilled at a time. In MS it is common when applying for a drilling unit to state the intent to drill two unit wells. The company still has to permit each well and the unit order and permit do not guarantee that they will be drilled. Can't speak to the rumor. It's certainly possible as the TMS operators should be generating a good bit of science in their early exploratory wells.

Thanks, I did not think the two well at same time rumor could be correct. Someone stated that while intermediate casing being set in first well, they were drilling second and that they would go back and forth on the two wells at same time????????????????.
Don't see how that is possible, since it seems, with my limited knowledge of drilling, you would need two traveling blocks to do both at same time?
Also did not see point of EnCana drilling two at this pad at same time unless they knew they had made a well on first one.
Appreciate your input.
It's possible but would not make sense except in the case of mechanical problems on the first well. The rig report to which I subscribe has only shown a rig reporting from the #1 well. It is possible to use a "spudder" rig to drill some upper portion of a well but that wouldn't seem useful where there is not a problem with holding leases. Although the pads may be large, the surface locations listed for many of the wells can be so close together there is not room for a second rig of any kind.
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
