Is there any news on the EnCana Sabine 12h-1 & 2 rig?  Was told it would be on site and begin drilling soon.

Yep, I did not think that rumor carried much weight.

Thanks again.

Considering the complex nature of the E&P business it is easy for laymen to misunderstand or misinterpret what they see and hear.  Rumors run rampant in all emerging plays.  Most are of no harm.  You're welcome.

Skip,

Spoke with an EnCana employee regarding some lease issues Thursday.  I asked her about the drilling time table.  She looked up some information on her weekly report and confirmed that both Sabine 12H 1 & 2 are being drilled at the same time.  They expect to be finished with #1 by the first week in September and with #2 by the last week in September.

Thanks, William.  Yes, I figured that out but haven't come up with a good reason for why the rig is drilling both wells at the same time.  It makes it difficult to keep up with progress.  As long as their both are good wells it really won't matter.

Skip,

You know way more about this stuff than I do, but, I was told that they are able to walk the drilling platform over and while casing is going on in one hole, drilling is happening at the other.  They said it saves time and money.

I'm familiar with walking rigs but there is no way to run and cement casing without having a drilling rig to do the job.

If you see anything in your rig reports, regarding status of this well. please post a reply if you do not mind.

Any new news on this one?  Are they still doing core sample work?

Trinidad Drilling Rig #125 reported 28 days Drilling Ahead, 8/1.

Trinidad Drilling Rig #125 reported 35 days Drilling Ahead, 8/8.

Skip,

I heard on another bulletin board that the rig had been down the last two weeks doing core samples.  Is that something to be concerned with?

Core samples will be important in tweeking the completion designs for specific areas of the play based on variations in the rock.  It doesn't take two weeks to take a core although it does add drilling days whenever the operator decides to drill a Pilot Hole.  No reason for concern.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of)  nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…
