Ditto....we are all trying to get the best deal....it does cost time and money to form a group...and all info so far indicates there is profitability in volume....1% seems to be very conserative based on rates that are being charged.....I would rather pay 1% at $25,000 an acre vs. 0% going solo and getting $5,500 per acre....to err is human, to forgive is devine.....

I would have to ask you, how many oil and gas leases have you negotiated? I would assume you are an expert in this field, since you do say "I will not get the same offer by myself". Surely your not basing your expertise on what you hear from every media outlet, landman, gas company, and goverment official. If so, I strongly suggest you eliminate yourself from your group, this way you contribute to the health of your own group.

Our land is in Sec 20 Township 22 Range 13, (29 acres)we are just southwest of Plain Dealing on Old Plain Dealing Road. By the looks of the map it seems that we are just out of range of the planned Haynesville Shale, but...has there been any interest in that area?

Shawn I forgive you, im just not letting you handle my acreage. Im sure the million bucks you split with the other shawn will help mend any hurt feeling you have. You can swear to your god "little g" all you want but us dumb southerners report to the "big G." Oh yeah, If you'r even in the military you can stop playing that angle. Shawn - I think you two are doing an awesome job! I know how much research and time yall have put into this group. The 1% is more than fair considering all the work YOU are doing for US. All we have to do is show up and sign the lease and count our money all the way to the bank. Keep up the great work (and I know it's WORK dealing with 9,000 acres!)

Why don't you doubters simply get on the phone on call Shawn (either one of them) & get all the details before bashing someone you know nothing about?

Either you want into the group or you don't...simple as that! All the BS is not necessary! Yes it is easy to do all this on your own, but, I can guarantee you it takes alot of time putting a group of this size together, keeping this list of landowners organized, contacting gas companies both the active ones in the area & those not here yet as well as researching these not so well known companies, staying on the phone all day with new landowners, etc., etc., etc.

For those of you who aren't happy - go away!
There are some issues but some of us have chosen to give Shawn & Shawn an opportunity to set things straight.
Discussion is good but most of you are doing nothing but bashing.
Maybe Shawn will consider a web site just for those who are interested in what he has to say.

I have actually been meaning to ask him about that...it would be a good way to get the info out to the members of the group & provide him a place to post recent info & news pertaining to the group.

James, I've spoken and been in contact with a very nice gentleman who has his own website. I've sent his info to Mr. Allen and it will be up to him to decide that. He has also been thinking about seeing if we could pay Laurie to build us a website.
I will not respond to the negative comments, it's not worth my time. However, those who gave positive comments; THANK YOU.
I do have some info that Shawn said I could post. He is in contact with "EnCana" and is trying to work a deal, for them to purchase the ENTIRE GROUP, not split it up. If you don't know who EnCana is, they bought all the working interest of the Barnett Shale from Chesapeake. It is a huge company. More to come later.

Rob the way they've got this set up you have to follow a thread via email to keep up or go through everything over and over to find specific responses. It's a horrible way to do it when it's so simple to just make it linear.

Look below the ADD REPLY button and click Follow. Then you will get emails when someone replies to this thread. Click the link in the email and it will take you to the specific responses.
