Freestone County
XTO Energy will drill the Zeno King Gas Unit II Well No. 6 to 13,800 feet 2.9 miles northeast of Teague in the Teague (Cotton Valley-Bossier Consolidated) Field. It is in the R.A. Nelson Survey, A-474.

Leon County
Gastar Exploration will drill the Gastar Steater Gas Unit No. 1 Well No. 1 to 20,000 feet in a lease 6.8 miles southwest of Marquez in a wildcat field. It is in the JM&M Pereira P/Grande Survey, A-17. and may be drilled in the Hilltop Resort (Bossier, Pettet and Knowles) Fields.

Tuscaloosa Trend Sits On Top Of Poorest Neighbourhood For Decades - Yet No Royalties Ever Paid To The Community -- Why??

In researching the decades-old Tuscaloosa Trend and the immense wealth it has generated for many, I find it deeply troubling that this resource-rich formation runs directly beneath one of the poorest communities in North Baton Rouge—near Southern University, Louisiana—yet neither the university ( that I am aware of) nor local residents appear to have received any compensation for the minerals extracted from their land.
