Desoto Parish is expecting 500 new jobs in about a year and has the Haynesville Shale to thank. Two companies have acquired 30 acres of land in the Parish's I-49 Business Park. Some of this land will be used to build rigs needed for the Haynesville Shale. Another portion of this land will be used to service trucks, essential for oil drilling purposes. The land was recently cleared and construction is pending.
