Great offer. The 20K are to those with much more land ~100 acres. Take it befoe it goes away. Get an experienced lawyer involved - D. Means in Mansfield is A+.

Good luck.....

Actually, small landowners are leasing for $20,000 per acre also. I signed and received a check last week for that amount and I only own 17 acres. One of my neighbors had 1 acre, he received the same, another neighbor had 3 acres and received the same.
Awesome...
Where are you located and who did you sign with?
Good afternoon insomniacnla, we have a group in Grand Cane with 60 acres and are waiting on Chesapeake to repsond to our addendums for $18,500 per acre. Can you provide any information on a contact name and company along with the O&G they represent?
I signed with Chesapeake through Steve Denny with Paramount Energy (337) 988-7722. Chesapeake's corporate office is (405) 848-8000 and the landman there that handled my area is David Luke.

At the beginning for me (June, 2008), I had not been contacted by Chesapeake so I emailed them through their company website. www.chk.com I had a response the next morning.

I think that the more o/g companies you have that are interested in your section, the better the offers you will receive. Chesapeake's first offer to me was $4,000, but about 3 hours after CHK made that offer, XTO contacted me and offered $11,000. Then CHK offered $12,500. I don't think that CHK would have raised their offer that quickly unless XTO had made their offer.

If you would like, I can list the o/g companies and their landmen that I received offers from.

I hope that you have a great outcome with your lease!
I called David Luke from Chesapeak and he said my area of
DeSoto Parish was not his territory and referred me to a Wayne Cloutet. Anyone hear of him?
