I posted this discussion on the general page.  Someone suggested that I also post it on the DeSoto page, so here is a copy.

In doing so, I noticed that the DeSoto group has just about taken its last breath, considering the last post or reply was many, many months ago.  I would like to hear from anybody who is getting split royalty payment between CHK and Comstock.

(original post)

I receive royalties from both Chesapeake and Comstock from a split that first started with Enduro. After Enduro went belly up, Comstock became part owner (30%) I believe.  I don't have a clue as to how the deal went, but if you are a recipient of royalty from CHK and Comstock on the same wells, I would like to talk to you.  The wells are in north DeSoto and numbered 251107, 251108, 251109, 251213, and 251214.  Please PM a friend request and I'll get back to you.

I just found this on this website. As I am new to this site and not very familiar many of its functions. I do receive a check from Comstock. As I inherented, I know my Mom used to receive from Chesapeake. Feel free to respond at anytime. I will try to check frequently.

Debbie, kudos for exploring the website.  There are many group pages with good information.  By scrolling through all the Groups, in the far right column, lower page, you can review which might be of use to you.  Most drilling units have an operator and one or more Working Interest individuals or companies.  Working Interest owners hold leases from mineral owners.  They are termed, Lessees.  Mineral owners are lessors.  Working Interests have the option to have the unit operator pay their lessors or pay them their selves.  Smaller companies like Enduro, mentioned in the discussion title, often choose to have the unit operator pay their lessors.  It is less usual for larger operating companies such as Chesapeake and Comstock to split the royalty payments.  Some units, and their lessors, received royalties from Chesapeake, then from Covey Park after that company acquired the unit from Chesapeake and finally from Comstock that acquired Covey Park's units.  So, details matter.  If this doesn't answer any question you may have, post another.
