I received phone call yesterday from the Electric Provider in Logansport area. They needed to cut down several trees on my property in order to upgrade the electric lines. I asked why? The electric company representative told me they were having to replace and upgrade electricity lines in my area because they are building a new gas plant/station down the road. I live in Houston and do not hear the local news or talk.Does anyone know if this is true? My property is located on Horn Rd in Logansport, LA.
If this true, how will this new plant effect the production in our area?

Well the production would be reduced or stopped if your trees fell across the power line and put it out of service. Trees and power lines sometimes cause problems. If it would be me, I would give the OK to cut the trees. Your neighbors down the road would probably thank you for the reduced time their power would be out because of your trees falling across the power line and taking it out of service.
Absolutely. I gave my permission to remove any trees or limbs that the power company needed to. My question was about any rumors about new Gas Plant or Station. I did talk to one towns person and they said that they heard it was a new Compressor Station going in. I was just curious. Logansport has been very dead since since the drilling rigs pulled out and went to south Texas. Any new activity is hopeful. Thanks.
XTO was still a player in the Logansport area but that was a while back.

This area has suffered immense environmental degradation…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
