Looks like Encana is doing a refrac on the Land & Knowles 18H #1, S18, T14N, R14W. Does anyone know if other wells in the area have been re-fractured? If so, was there an increase in production?

I don't think the operators will be willing to wait long term for a return of their cost to refrac.  If the increase does not pay for itself in the short term, they probably have better places to invest their money.

@FXEF, have you heard any news on sections 6 & 7 of 14/14, the Packert Wells? Friends of ours who live near there say there is a lot of traffic into well site

KCM,

You heard any news on Sec 19 14-14 getting refrac thats on Hwy 5 in Kickapoo as well

@James, no I haven't heard about any refracs except the one on Sec. 18. FXEF is the person who is really knowledgeable in that whole area. Hopefully he/she will respond

Thanks for the correction FXEF. Our friends with acreage in Sec. 18 are ones who told us about it & now I remember it was April. Apparently same thing is now going on in sections 6 & 7 just directly north of Sec. 18. EnCana has all those sections, so obviously they know something. I used to know a supervisor with EnCana and I could get info from him, but he is long gone from the co.

In the re-frac studies I have reviewed there was a specific menu for choosing wells to undergo the treatment.  Generally speaking they were under performing wells some of which had experienced mechanical or completion related problems.  Also the wells were chosen, for the most part, to have no immediately adjacent horizontal wellbores/frac zones.  It will be interesting to hear more detail as to ECA's re-frac program.  Considering the statistical occurrence of non-contriubuting stages and perf clusters, successful re-fracs could have a significant impact on EUR.

I have looked on Sonris and cannot see an entry about the refrac  in Sec. 18 of 14/14 Desoto. Wouldn't a gas co. have to put anything they do to a well on Sonris?

Not SONRIS Lite.

Skip, I went to Sonris Lite and pulled up well info but there is nothing in the history reflecting a refrac

Anyone in the Holly Field where EnCana is operator heard of anymore refracs? With EnCana putting their Haynesville assets on the market, I am now wondering if EnCana will even bother with doing anymore refracs

I don't know for sure but believe maybe 4-14n-14w or adjoining 9-14n-14w has had one.

Gosh Parkdota, long time no post!! Good to see you back on the site!

Are you noticing it in your checks? When they refracked sec. 18 of 14/14 the only way I could tell was: (1) No checks for a couple of months and (2) all of a sudden much larger checks. Wen back and had to look at a history to see something went on. Do you think they refracked 4 and 9 recently?
