warden. This notice is being sent to all the mineral and surface owners of record within the unit boundaries and those adjoining the boundary to a distance of 1000'. The operator making this application is required to notice those owners and offer the opportunity for a meeting in Shreveport. If no one on the list requests that meeting, the application will be placed on the Commissioner's public hearing schedule in Baton Rouge. It is rare that a unit application is denied and upon approval the Commissioner issues a Field Order establishing the requested drilling and production unit. A unit allows the operator to force pool all mineral interests within the unit boundaries which means they will all share in the unit production based upon the percentage of their unit acres and their lease status. Unit applications are a leading indicator of an operator's intent to develop but does not require wells to be drilled in any time frame. The unit order is good indefinitely until application is made to dissolve it. The operator will begin permitting wells for the unit based on their development strategy. If the plat for the unit does not include a location for a unit well then it is difficult to know when a well will be permitted in the unit. If you could share the section-township-range for the unit, you'll likely get some additional information and opinions. Good Luck.
