Just curious if ANYONE has received any royalty payments on their Haynesville Shale wells? We have interests in at least 7 wells being drilled or completed but have not received one penny in royalties yet. Some wells have been completed for almost a year BUT STILL NO PRODUCTION. Just wondering why some companies would go through the expense of drilling a well if they aren't going to get any production from it. No production means no money to the mineral owner but also no return on investment to the operator. SWEPI seems to be the worst by far. Just a little frustrated at this point......

Tahoe,
Yes, SWEPI is the worst, BY FAR. They have turned very few wells to sales. Read the anti-SWEPI discussions on the main board.
Exco seems to be much better about putting gas to sales and paying the mineral owners. Good news is you should get a whopper check when they start sales. Good luck.
Encana and Petrohawk are good about paying on time and paying market. Just leased an area with Chesapeake which is being drilled, so don't know how they pay yet.
No money either...I just wanted to say AMEN!! It is so bad I won't even go to their gas stations any more. I know it is not hurting them, but it makes me feel better. I have completions from almost 2 years now.
Tahoe, it is primarily a function of location in the play. Much of the early drilling by Exco, Questar, Petrohawk, etc was in areas that already had significant facilities and pipeline infrastructure. Also the northern areas of the play did not require CO2 & H2S removal. The majority of Shell's wells were drilled in the southwestern portion of the Haynesville Shale play where there was limited exisitng facitities or pipelines. Also, this part of the play has slightly higher levels of CO2 & H2S that required the installation of amine treaters.
We have wells in Sec 20 and 30 - through Encana. Talked to them just yesterday for a status update. We are complete, but the pipeline is not complete. Encana has signed a contract with CenterPoint Energy to "move" the product to sales. I am told this is the best way, because CenterPoint is paid by the product they move. Makes sense to me. I understand the delay was with some right of way issues. But to answer your inquiry - no royalty check yet.

Good Luck!
Isauci, you are correct. EnCana & Shell have contracted with CenterPoint Field Services to install and operate the gathering pipelines and gas treating facilities required to transport the natural gas from wellhead to gas sales pipeline. CFS likely receives a unit fee ($ per Mcf or MMBtu) for providing these services.
Centerpoint is slow too.
They did have to reroute the ROW.
We have a well in Sect 8 that's been in production since Mar 2010.
No check.
Yes, we have interest in three wells at this time and are being paid on the initial well drilled by Comstock. WE expect payments on the following two El Paso (Coronado) wells within the next month or so. All in all payments have started coming in within about three months of well completions.
My cousin's well has been online since late January 2010, and he just received the Division Order last week. The driller is Camterra Resources, Inc., Marshall, Texas. The well is located off Linwood Extension in North DeSoto Parish.
I have a Cheasapeake well in the Naborton area (southeast Desoto Parish) that just went online last week. I was told by someone in the know that I'd be receiving a Division Order real soon.

The Lithium Connection to Shale Drilling
