Anybody within eyesite of these wells? SONRIS updates are somewhat puzzling. Well one was progressing along and well two was spud and waiting on a rig. Was told by Questar that well one would be completed and then drilling on well two would begin. Now well one has not been updated since July and well two is further along than well one. Thanks for any info.

Most likely they reached TD on well #1, then skidded rig over and started drilling well #2. SONRIS does not offer a good means to track well progress in real time.
Word, it looks as though the H1 Well vertical section was drilled first and the rig skidded over in mid June to drill the H2 Well vertical and horizontal sections.
The odd thing about the SONRIS update is that both wells have an update for 7/16 at the exact same depth on the same date. This makes me wonder if the update for well 2 is erroneous. Thanks for your response.
Word, this is an alternate source of information.

Let me shed a little light on this since these are wells located on my property, May # 1 and May # 2. Yes, Questar spuded both wells then drilled the vertical portion of well # 1 then pulled off and slid the rig over 25 feet and drilled the vertical portion of well # 2. They then went ahead and drilled the horizonal portion of well# 2. Now they have slid back to # 1 and are drilling the horizonal portion of well # 1. The reason I was told by Questar that they did this was because they use a different type of mud for the vertical versus the horizonal. So it's simply a matter of economics to do it in this manner.
Jim, I would like to ask a personal question, which of course you can obviously refuse to answer; and if you do so I understand thoroughly. Are you leased, and if so, are you leased with questar, chesapeake or another entity. I am leased with chesapeake, and was told by questar that it was yet to be determined whether or not I would receive my royalties direct from them or through chesapeake. I am not asking about your payment arrangements, as that is none of my business, just who you are lease through. If you care to share. If not, I understand. Also thanks for your response.
Yes, I am leased to Questar. In fact our section was and maybe still is the only section in DeSoto Parish that Questar has controlling interest in, they are very active in Red River and Bienville Parishes. From what I have witnessed so far and from what I have heard about Questar they are a really good company to work with. I think you will be paid from whomever you are actually leased to, no matter who has controlling interest in your section.
Questar, told me that this was there only interest in DeSoto. Thanks for the info. Guess both wells should be up and running within the next month or so.
Really not sure what this has to do with the two wells being discussed in this thread.
The term "interest" is used in several ways when discussing minerals. An interest can be an "ownership interest" or a "leasehold interest". Questar has existing leasehold, much of which is Held By Production, throughout the area of the Haynesville Shale Play including DeSoto and parishes other than Bienville and Red River.
Are you familiar or heard anything about the company Matador Production that was just permitted on 9/28/10 for this section. I have not seen a whole lot or anything about them really.
