Trying to figure out what is up in this section. Back last fall, I believe it was Encana who went to DNR to drill this section. No permit was ever issued. Anyone have any info

KCM, no well permit but I have information indicating Chesapeake is the operator.

S6-T13N-R14W, HA RB SU67 Unit, Chesapeake, Bethany-Longstreet Field, DeSoto Parish

has it gone before DNR yet? At one time Encana was going to be the operator
The original application for HA unit status was by Chesapeake.  You may be thinking of pre-application notice letters sent by some other operator for adjacent sections however there are no EnCana units in this township.
Susie, the Commission approved the Unit Order (No 289-R-97) on 6/29/10 with Chesapeake as operator.
Thank you Les. I don't know why I thought it was Encana. Isn't that a long time between a unit approval and a no permit?
A unitization order from the state does not include any time requirement for drilling.  The order is in force indefinitely until an application is made to dissolve it.  The fact that EnCana formed the unit suggests future intentions to drill Haynesville wells but since existing leases are Held By Production by the El Paso wells in this section there is no issue with lease term expirations.
Susie, there are some Haynesville Units that were formed in 2008 which may never be drilled.  Lease terms are the more critical factor in determining when a Haynesville Shale may be permitted and drilled in the Section by Chesapeake.
thanks to all for the info. Have a friend with acreage there. He couldn't figure out why no permit yet since he had gone before DNR several months ago.
