Bosco, all

Attached are some of the online files for 455-30314, a vertical well completed in the Glen Rose in the 1970s.  I don't have the production records for when this well was in its prime, but is has a few interesting features - it had a shut in pressure reported at 3100 PSI, potentialed at 102 MCF/day, and had a reported GOR of 120 cf/bbl.  someone please check my math, but 102 mcf = 102000 cf /120 = 850 bbl of condensate.

What am I doing wrong here?

Now I understand why the Gibbs Bros well has you "sitting on the fence" as it has very little of the above described criteria and would be a "deal maker" if it is just a decent well. If that well falls through the trend in East Tx will be confined to "identifiable sweet spots" and we will be confined to that box.  Glad you hedged yourself as being wrong sometimes-- LOL  ----- Think I am not to far from that Range well if I can help just give me a lat. long. on map datum USGS 1984.  I think the surveyors use something called NAD 27 map datum and it is different from homeowner gps ( I Think).
The Gibbs Borthers well is at
Lat 30 45' 35.23"
Long -95, 47 58.75

If you enter it in Google earth like this :
30 45 35.23, -95 47 58.75

It should map you right to it, near a dogleg in Scales Ranch Road, south and west of FM 1696. It would be nice to know if the frac was progessing.

Talked to a O&G pro in Huntsville area that I know well -- He said " DON'T WASTE TIME LOOKING, THAT RANGE WELL WAS FRACED A GOOD WHILE BACK BY SOME BRAND NEW TECHNOLOGY" said everyone around here knows it is a done deal and it is good news and they are waiting on pipeline hook-up ----- sent him that RRC completion report and he said "pooh" on that, they are just bluffing while they increase acreage every day.

Said XTO and Western Chief are leasing in western Trinity co. and XTO paid $1100 to a "group"

Quote of the Day --- "anything free ends up costing you twice as much"  LOL

Dry Hole,

I've seen enough that I'll get really enthusiastic when I see a flow rate and/or a flowing pressure. There is a Copano 6" line, called the Bedias Lateral, immediately north of the surface location. Provided it has some capacity, it shouldn't take long to get hooked in. That said, there are a lot of reasons to go slow as you note...

Dry hole,

If that is true about the Gibbs well, it conflicts with recent TRRC filings.

What is the penalty for filling elusive Data to the RRC ? --- Looks to me like they do elusive fillings over  in Houston Co. all the time?

What about that "NEW Experimental FRAC TECH" my buddy eluded that it was done without water?  (maybe expandable clay ?)

I am going to take some time and unload on this topic, as I know something about it.

Knowingly filing a false report with the Texas Railroad commission is a felony. I have talked at length about this with the TRRC Chief legal counsel, Larry Borilla. He seemed to offended that I ask the question.

As a practical matter the TRRC is nothing more than a public relations firm for the oil and gas industry, in my opinion. Where else can one plead guilty to 400+ felonies and get away with a slap on the wrist fine? If anyone doubts this, take a quick look at Endeavor Resources and it’s head honcho Autry Stephens. Here is a quick look at the case:

http://www.tlma.org/royalty.htm

I called the Midland office of the TRRC and they sent me a copy of the investigation. There were hundreds and hundreds of violations cited involving filing false reports. The agent in charge of the investigation in the Midland TRRC office told me that Austin TRRC bosses tried to stonewall the investigation.

Lying to the TRRC for the purpose of defrauding royalty owners happens hundreds of times per month, if not thousands of times per month. I can show you case after case. To bring all this into focus, ask yourself and your fellow landowners this question:

How much did you donate to the campaign fund for Texas Railroad Commissioners last year? Then ask this question to the operator of your property.

The Texas Railroad Commission is corrupt and serves the interests of oil companies. If you would like to learn more about the Railroad Commission of Texas, I suggest the following book”

Petroleum Politics and the Texas Railroad Commission. By david Prindle  http://books.google.com/books/about/Petroleum_Politics_and_the_Texa...

Wow, I was just trying to edit my post to say that they are not even shy about elusive filings on State Owned PRISON FARMS when  yours popped up Boscoe----- I stand bested by the best ----- I have noted that the mkts go up and down but my small checks stay the same just like a fixed income hm hm  ---- no wonder the landowners always say to get the most out of the lease because you will never get much of the production. ---One thing that I have learned over the decades about feed store gossip is "WHERE THERE'S SMOKE THERE'S USUALLY A FIRE" so Range is probably guilty of something right or wrong --- Sorry for leading you guys off course ---- we've come a long way from an old HNG well in NE Trinity Co. but it's been interesting.   I think I should back off and let you guys concentrate on the job at hand.
Possibly a propane frac, but for that to work on a high volume job, it would be best to be able to flow into a sales line although they don't have to.

Range and others have a vested interest in spreading dis-information regarding this well. It can be as simple as trying to find leaks in an organization (e.g. leak different things to different peoiple to find out who talked). IMHO, take anything with a grain of salt (even from me) until there are "real" numbers for this well.

I remember a time about 12 years ago I was a member of a small cap stock messaging board and we had been speculating about a particular stock. Next thing you know, our speculation is picked up as "fact" by the press, and caused a short term increase in the stock. The term we used at the time was eating our own grabage.
Dry Hole

Agreed the way Range handled it, there is an intent to hide something (either positive, or negative). Thats what makes the older wells interesting as there is often a great deal of public data that can be reviewed and is known quantity. The Range well is is interesting in the context of the HNG well as theoretically, they might be part of the same trend. Call this the conspiracy theory board, I'm ok with that. The more we can share (even if it isn't from a reliable source) allows us and others to make informed decisions about what's going on.

dbob

How about throwing out the ? of this "NEW EXPERIMENTAL FRAC TECH" allegedly used by Range  to some of your other contacts in other threads and see if anyone knows about it ?    This could be the key to the success of this well and could be a big game changer for East Texas  --- I will ask some of my pro contacts also

dbob,Boscoe

Looks like PMO and Range are on the go again in Leon Co. this time ---- Looks like PMO is going to test some of the northern part of the EagleBine trend --- they seem to be very good and just don't ever make a bad move  (they must have a good geologist)

Range seems to be going for a H Glenrose with a pretty long lateral near Leona if I read it right

When filing total depth some operators seem to include the length of the lateral and some do not -- what is the correct way ?
