Emerging oil and gas producer Energy & Exploration Partners Inc. said it has agreed to buy oil and gas acreage in Texas from Chesapeake Energy Corp CHK -1.04%. for $125 million.

In a registration statement filed Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Fort Worth, Texas-based company said it signed a deal with Chesapeake to acquire 57,275 net acres in the Eaglebine formation in Texas. The agreement, signed Monday, is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2012, the company said.

The plot thickens- anyone got a mole that can figure out where this property is and if it substantially all of CHK's holdings?

I looked at that. Did anything ring a bell for you?

David Patty and Tom McNutt seem familiar, but I haven't placed them.  There is also a list of directors that I haven't had time to go through.

The company announced its IPO 2 days ago, at $275 Million - The CHK transaction would eat up about about half after the proceeds left after underwriting.  That would give about $125 million, which should get 15-25 wells.

 Dbob,

Still much frustration trying to post ----- CHK leased about 15,000 acres in their own name in the Austonio area and did some drilling and leasing in Madison and Leon Co.    ----- Who knows what they might have with partners and or "Shadow Companies" .

ENEXP is in NE Grimes and NW Walker, Southern Madison. Leasing activity halted (supposedly a temp. hold) in late Oct. 2012. Supposedly, taking inventory after acquiring CHK acreage. Halcon is JV part.
