Lots of Good stuff - Eagle Ford/Woodbine takes second billing right behind the Utica. IRR graph suggests development is economic below $70/bbl oil. Halcon aims for roughly 765 drilling locations, based on a spacing model. With allowance for infill drilling at a later date. Halcon is probably looking at drilling 80+ wells in the next 3 to 5 years in the Eagle Ford and Woodbine, and related targets.
The Map on about page 15 ought to be of interest to a lot of folks - the cross sections are nice, but take a look at where there type cross sections are done - This appears to push the play further east.
Looks like they will also be going after some Wilcox potential - although not a featured formation. That ought to give folks a bit south of the Eagle ford Woodbine development trend some hope. Particularly Jeffre and others.

dbob,
Are you saying jffree has HOPE now and can look forward to days without depression ? Maybe even get a call from a Landman?
Thanks for posting this, wish we had someone that could tell us all about Page 15
I am wondering just HOW FAR EAST "EagleBine" leasing is taking place ? Has it gone past my ear-shot ?
Oh, no... I'm not playing that game again, DH. I learned my lesson with the Haynesville and I'll look for landmen when I see 'em turn in my driveway. In the mean time, I have a pretty good network now and I'll just keep an eye on activity in my neighborhood like I've been doing for four years now (sigh).
Dbob,
FYI -- HK is the ticker symbol for their stock it was 7.40 a couple days ago but now at 8.29
Looks like p15 well logs show API #s for Houston and Trinity Co.
No doubt but what they are already leasing in Houston County and looks like their "Banker" is also involved with Navidad and other companies working HC.
i started another discussion about the halcon map on pg 18/19.
the lambright is next to kinkaid lake and
about 16mi s.e. of bentley 34h.
broadway is near woodworth.
crockett (houston county) texas is 200 miles west of mcnutt cemetary (tms lambright & broadway are in rapides parish louisiana.
I have laid the Halcon Isopach map over Google Earth to get a birds eye view of the red line. It is a little bit blurry when blown up that big but you can see where the warm colors (thicker intervals) are across the counties, at least, and approx. where the well line is on the ground.
Sun Resources (?) put out a press release touting a well they are participating in in the Woodbine. The most interesting tidbit, though, was this:
Beeler-1H targets the same productive Woodbine Formation interval as that in the PMO Oil Field, which Halcón Resources Corporation paid Petromax Operating Company US$378 million (A$370.7 million) for a 75% stake in.
Anyone know where Petromax has been drilling the Woodbine?
petromax has been drill in leon co tx for about two years.
east of leona tx
Thanks for confirming Leon Co., Norman. I did find the Beeler 1H permitted in Leon Co. by Manek Exploration.
jffree, Halcon has the same investment partners as Navidad, Encap out of Houston.
Manek is rigging up on the Beeler 1H Now
Halcon shows 2 rigs running 1 in Grimes county and 1 in Austin Co.
Sorry Randy,
I did not mean to give you the boot here ---- Should one view Encap as a investment partner or a Banker ?
Randy,
This makes me wonder if say Navidad and Halcon should be viewed as "partners" or "competitors" if they are both working in the same general area ?
Obviously Encap does not want them competing against one another for leases with their money so they must have some sort of middle man working for Encap to prevent this
Shale drilling and lithium extraction are seemingly distinct activities, but there is a growing connection between the two as the world moves towards cleaner energy solutions. While shale drilling primarily targets…

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
