All,
Looks like there is some leasing activity near Goat Hill and Carmona. For those not familiar with Goat Hill, its just inside the Trinity County line on FM 357, northwest of Wakefield. I'd appreciate anything folks can mention about areas of interest - its slightly further south than I had expected.
Also, it looks like Trivium may have sold all or part of their stake in the Eaglebine to EOG. Again, I don't know the extent, and any clarity folks have on the range of their acreage is interesting.

Believe that SM Energy is in the Goat Hill / Carmona area - already have a decent lease position in many areas in that neck of the woods.
EOG taking over Trivium block appears to be fact too.
Mark, one other comment about that Goat Hill area - there was a blowout there in the late 70's or early 80s. Can't recall if that is the HNG Temple #4 well or another. I think Dry Hole knows about that one.

Aurora, which has acreage in the core of the Eagle Ford, has picked up 14000 acres of Eaglebine. It doesn't say where or what they paid.

AboutAs exciting as this is, we know that we have a responsibility to do this thing correctly. After all, we want the farm to remain a place where the family can gather for another 80 years and beyond. This site was born out of these desires. Before we started this site, googling "shale' brought up little information. Certainly nothing that was useful as we negotiated a lease. Read More |
