Trinity County ends and Walker County starts at "Turner Hill" on  FM 230...and runs for a stretch of about 13 miles west on 230 until you get to "Politician Hill" where Walker County ends and Houston County starts.  The first well you mentioned would have been around "Chalk Cemetery" road....the second well, on "Bo Brown" road was about 8 years ago...and both were definitely in Walker County.  I don't believe that the "fracking" technology was used on these wells, but I could be mistaken.  Maybe I can sniff around and find out more about these old locations...I've slept a lot since that timeframe...lol...!!!

The Company initially guided that it would commence production from the Stingray in early December, and today reiterated that such production remains on track for this month; however, it has encountered a restriction during its completion process that will, in the near-term, limit the production capabilities of the Stingray. Despite this limit to production capabilities, and in order to satisfy certain contractual obligations to Range Texas Production, LLC ("Range"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Range Resources Corporation, ZaZa intends to produce the Stingray A-1H well and initiate sales by December 16, 2012, or such later time as may be agreed upon by Range. Shortly after initiating sales and satisfying its obligation to Range, ZaZa intends to temporarily shut-in the Stingray in order to remedy the restriction and, once successful, establish initial full production rates for the Stingray.

ZaZa drilled its initial Eaglebine well, the Stingray A-1H (“Stingray”), in Walker County, Texas. The well log results, using the Schlumberger ELAN analysis tool, showed an estimated 21 BCF and 29 MMBO per section in place or ~980,000 BOE/EUR recoverable, applying a recovery factor of 18-20%. After completion of hydraulic fracturing operations, the casing, under normal operating conditions, suffered a casing collar failure, which ZaZa determined to be the cause of a down-hole restriction in the lateral portion of the well. Metallurgical testing performed on the collar indicated that the collar failed because of embrittlement. Notwithstanding multiple attempts, the Company has been unable to remediate this restriction and has lost the lateral. Based on encouraging mud log shows from the Commodore A-1 and the successful production results of other operators in the area, ZaZa has prepared the Stingray for re-entry and plans to drill through the Lower Cretaceous, below the Lower Eaglebine, and attempt to complete it as a vertical commingled well...

There is more there, but I wanted to pass on some comments from an interested 3rd party.  

Recovery factor is 3X higher than Eagle Ford - probably overly optimistic

Casing embrittlement suggests H2S

I'm open to the idea, but I'm still watching the Austin Chalk and Yegua development - trying to figure out where in Polk County and points further east where there is eaglebine vs where Wilcox and Yegua are the movers...

Maybe East Texas Eaglebine or Eaglebine Paradise in the Pines. Looks like it is a stormy eaglebine tonight.

(chuckling) jffree, thinking back now, a name change for this thread would just put one more thing in my head that I'd have to remember...I wasn't thinking of this thread for a change, though, and I reaize the "Eaglebine" will not rival Haynesville, Marcellus, etc. but I'm hoping it becomes more significant than has been thought previously.

heh, you see what you started? (just kidding)

When I named this group I wanted to be as inclusive as possible because the geology (of which I am not an expert) changes  a lot moving south into D3. I am hearing about a monster well down at Beaumont now and I'm pretty sure it's not Eaglebine. 

We are also talking, in this group, about activity in counties that are not in D3. But they all have new Eaglebine activity in common. I think we may need to just add Eaglebine to the name so new members can find where we are discussing that topic... for now.
