We have land in the Pressley Maulding Survey A-273 and Reuben Mitchell Survey, A265.  I would like to know if that land is apart of the Haynesville Shale play?  If anyone has any info please share, thank you.

LaMetra, Marion County is not currently considered to be in the Haynesville Shale Play as it is too far north. In the beginning the Play included central Harrison County to the south but development revealed that the better shale was further south from there. A good bit further south as both Harrison and Panola counties are not now considered to be in the core of the Haynesville/Bossier Play.
Does that mean that oil or gas does not exist or it is very limited. Thanks for the info
No, it simply means that Marion County is not prospective for the Haynesville Shale. There could very well be other formations within Marion that are prospective for oil and/or gas. The only current activity that I am aware of that may extend into Marion County is the Smackover oil Play along the LA./AR. border. You can follow that development in the Arkansas Group.
