Looks to be mainly near Evelyn. Coincidentally, or not, the lease descriptions filed are in undrilled HA units.
Have you any idea why these leases were taken at this time (with the cost of gas below $4.00) and in this general area of little or no previous activity? I do not suppose this to be the "core of the core" of the Haynesville. Chesapeake is busy with permits for Cross Unit Laterals just across the Bayou in DeSoto Parish. Has Long ever drilled a Haynesville well? What do you suppose Long is looking for here?
Are we sure the company name is, Long Petroleum? The Department of Natural Resources/Office of Conservation does not recognize Long Petroleum as a registered operator. Nor does the Secretary of State have a Long Petroleum listed as a corporation registered with the state.
I count 45 leases recorded by Long Petroleum, LLC in the Red River Parish Legal News.
Go by the court house and read one or two. That may tell you something about the intentions of Long or whomever he represents.
